I like the layout of this page better than the first one, I think the thumbnails make the page more interesting and the outstanding page numbers makes them easier to find and read.
The house style is also continued in this design as the colour scheme is continued as well as the masthead ans title of the page. However I change the font of the articles and information so they are easier to read.
This page also includes a 'Letter From The Editor' which I think adds personality and interest too.
I do think that although this page has more content than the previous I think that I looks quite plain. I think that I could maybe add more photo's and articles to make the page more eye-catching and interesting.

Contents Page Draft 1

I have continued the house style with this contents page by using the same colour scheme and font as one of my front cover options.
This cover includes conventions such as column headings, page numbers, a website, date and subscription info. However I do think that this contents page is quite plain and doesn't look like it contains much information.

Contents Hand Drawn Drafts



These hand drawn drafts are of contents page layouts that I would consider using in my magazine. These layouts are inspired by existing contents pages that I found in music magazines like Top of the Pops and more general magazines like Company.

Contents Page Inspiration

 I wanted to have a look at the layout of some contents pages which are in existing magazines to get some inspiration about what to include and the set out.
This page has clearly marked sections, pointing out to the reader clealry the different areas that the stories and articles fit into. I think this is a really good idea and it allows the reader to quickly find what they are looking for.
The page also has visual representaions of what is included in the magazine. For example the jumper on the left of the page has a page number next to it, therefore indicating to the reader that on that particular page more information about the jumper will be given.
I also noticed that some of the stories in the sections have been highlighted, I think that this is pointing out interesting stories to the reader, it makes them easier to find on the page.




This contents page is from Billboard magazine, this magazine has a different target audience to Top of the Pops and this can be clearly seen by the layout and style of this page. However we can still see that this page has some features similar to the first one.
This page also has clearly marked sections that show the reader what stories are related to certain categories.
